TheGoldenTea™ brings seniors together through the warmth of afternoon tea — intentional gatherings focused on social connection, health and wellness, and building the kind of community where every Golden Queen feels seen, valued, and celebrated.
"Every Golden Queen carries a lifetime of wisdom, grace, and resilience. Whether her circle is large or small, she deserves a space that honors her, lifts her, and celebrates exactly who she is."
Afternoon tea is rooted in a centuries-old tradition — it was one of the first social spaces where women gathered freely — to talk, to laugh, to listen, and to belong. It was never about the tea. It was always about the connection. TheGoldenTea™ carries that tradition forward — honoring it, and bringing it to the women who deserve it most.
TheGoldenTea™ is a community enrichment program designed specifically for seniors — bringing them together through warm, structured gatherings that combine social connection, health and wellness education, and the simple but powerful act of being present for one another.
Loneliness and social isolation among seniors is one of the most urgent public health challenges of our time — but TheGoldenTea™ is not only for those who are isolated. It is for every senior who values connection, enrichment, and community. Whether your circle is large or just beginning, there is always room at our table. TheGoldenTea™ was created with community, dignity, and belonging at its core — because every senior deserves more joy, more connection, and more of what makes life rich.
Whether through a flexible tea circle gathering schedule or a structured multi-session wellness series, TheGoldenTea™ creates spaces where seniors see each other, support each other, and celebrate each other — because every Golden Queen deserves a circle that shows up for her.
Every session is designed to nourish the whole person — socially, emotionally, and physically.
TheGoldenTea™ offers two program formats so partners can choose what works best for their community.
The U.S. Senate Committee on Aging held dedicated hearings in 2025 on breaking the cycle of senior loneliness — recognizing it as one of the most pressing public health challenges facing older Americans today. Social isolation among seniors has been linked to increased risk of cognitive decline, depression, cardiovascular disease, and early mortality.
TheGoldenTea™ was built specifically to address this crisis — not with clinical intervention, but with community. We create the conditions for seniors to see each other, care for each other, and build the bonds that make life richer, healthier, and more full of meaning.
Every cup of tea shared is an act of public health. Every friendship formed is a protective factor. Every senior who leaves a session feeling seen and valued is a life improved.
Our wellness framework is designed to be accessible, engaging, and relevant — meeting seniors where they are and building on their strengths.
Shane Alleyne is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and a professional social entrepreneur. She attended Morgan State University — one of America's premier HBCUs — an experience that deepened her understanding of community, service, and the power of institutions that exist specifically to lift those who have too often been left behind. That foundation shapes everything she builds.
With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, compliance, and organizational development, Shane has had a front-row view of how social isolation, lack of community support, and disconnection impact health outcomes — particularly among vulnerable and underserved populations.
But for Shane, TheGoldenTea™ is also deeply personal. She cared for her aging father through the final seasons of his life — and today, she continues to care for her aging mother. She knows firsthand what it means to watch a parent need more than medical care. She knows what loneliness looks like. She knows what belonging can do. TheGoldenTea™ was born from that experience — and from a deep conviction that every senior deserves to be seen, honored, and surrounded by people who care.
As the founder of both QueenTea™ and TheGoldenTea™, Shane has built a uniquely intergenerational mission — one that honors the youngest queens still finding their voices, and the Golden Queens who have spent a lifetime using theirs.
